VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSIONS FAQs

How long will it take to receive my certification after a VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSION?

From start to finish we can usually certify you in less than a week! If you really need your certification ASAP, we can expedite overnight shipping for an additional fee.

How do VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSIONS work?

The Virtual option is a 2 step process. Here’s how it works! Step 1: Complete the online course. Step 2: Register for a Virtual Skills Session.
After you register and turn in your online completion certificate, you’ll receive a scheduling link to make an appointment. A required CPR KIT will be shipped to your home in time for your session. Our most up-to-date schedules take into consideration shipping time. If you need an appointment sooner than what you see available, expedited shipping is an option.

What equipment will be sent to me for my VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSION?

Equipment will vary depending on your registered skills session, and ships to you in a small box. Depending on your registered skills session, we’ll include an adult/child and infant manikin, AED trainer, adult and/or infant BVM and feedback device. First Aid will include a student first aid kit. All equipment is approved by the American Heart Association for virtual skills training.

Do I have to pay for shipping for my VIRTUAL SESSION equipment?

Shipping and return shipping through UPS are included in the registration fee. You will receive a return shipping label in your equipment package. It is your responsibility to repackage the equipment and drop off at your local UPS store as soon as possible following your completed skills session.

Will my employer accept VIRTUAL TRAINING? They said I need a hands-on CPR course.

YES! The American Heart Association developed a virtual training course in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to it’s success, the program now continues for those with complicated schedules or for others who are unable to find a class in their area.  The HeartCode and Heartsaver online courses provide the same detailed information as an instructor-led class. During the videoconferencing session, you will be use the equipment to demonstrate the required skills in front of the certified AHA instructor. The CPR Kit comes with a feedback monitor to be worn on your wrist. This device measures compression rate when practicing chest compressions

Will I receive an American Heart Association card after a VIRTUAL SESSION?

Yes. Your certification card will be issued through the American Heart Association’s eCard site. The card you will receive will be the exact same as if you had attended an in-person course. There is no difference!!

How long does the VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSION take?

The amount of time for a videoconferencing skills session depends on the certification you need. Sessions can be approximately 1 hour and up to 2 hours.

Do I have to take an online course? Can I just do the VIRTUAL SKILLS SESSION?

Per American Heart Association guidelines, you must complete the corresponding American Heart Association online course prior to completing your skills session. You can find their catalog of courses here. Please contact customer service at 866-757-5453 or info@citywidecpr.com if you have any questions about which course is right for you.

How do I join my VIRTUAL meeting?

When you schedule your appointment, you’ll receive an email confirmation with a “Join with Google Meet” link in that email.  Do allow permissions for your microphone and camera.

What certifications can I receive with a VIRTUAL SESSION?

We are currently offering Virtual Training Sessions for HeartCode BLS, ACLS and PALS as well as Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED. We also offer add-on options for the following advanced courses: ACLS with BLS and PALS with BLS.
