Description BBP training course is led by an Instructor who teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. We can tailor a specific bloodborne pathogen course to incorporate your company’s specific exposure control plan and infection control protocol.
Who Should Take This Course? This course is designed for workers in the commercial market who must receive training per OSHA standard 1910.1030 and also for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as: correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff, tattoo artists
Course Content
- Protect themselves from blood or blood-containing materials.
- Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
- Take the right steps to clean themselves and the area involved when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
- Inform their supervisor about the incident.
- Report any exposure to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
Required Student Materials There are no required materials
Course Format and Exam During this classroom-based course, an Instructor leads video-based lessons with review questions at the end of each lesson. The classroom course is approximately 1 hour long, not including site-specific training.
Course Completion Card Upon completion of this course, students receive a First Aid Course Completion Card, valid for one year. Cards will be processed as eCards, and usually received within 3-5 business days following the class.
