Description The American Heart Association offers eLearning and blended learning courses to provide complete, flexible training solutions. Training is completed mostly on the student’s schedule. Students are able to complete online training at their own pace anytime and anywhere with internet access. AHA HeartCode BLS Online + Skills is a course that contain skills that require practice. Students must complete an in-person Skills Practice and Testing Session with an AHA Instructor after they complete the online portion. The Instructor will evaluate the student’s skills and offer a course completion card to students who pass the skills testing requirements. Skills sessions must completed within 90 days of the completion of the online course. You can find your completion date printed on your completion certificate.
Who Should Take This Course? Healthcare providers who prefer the option to complete their training anytime, anywhere and have the opportunity to review topics and complete the course at their own pace. Healthcare providers include physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians,respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.

Required Student Materials The student manual is provided with the online course if required; it does not need to be purchased separately.
Course Format and Exam (Part 1)This course uses a variety of eLearning assets — such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities — to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. After the online course, students must pass the online exam with a score of 84% or higher (Part 2) After completing the online portion, students attend a structured Instructor-led classroom session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. Skills sessions must completed within 90 days of the completion of the online course. You can find your completion date printed on your completion certificate.
Continuing Education Credits EMS Professionals requiring continuing education credits, must submit a written request within 60 days of course completion. The AHA offers continuing medical education (CME) or continuing education (CE) credits for some of its CPR and ECC courses, and CME/CE may also be offered for live events. Learn more>
Certification Card Students receive the American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years. AHA cards will be processed as eCards and are always received within 48 hours of a scheduled course. Learn more >
